Posting Summary


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant in the Department of
Pediatrics the within New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).

The primary purpose of the Research Assistant will be to conduct specialized epidemiologic surveillance and research under the supervision and direction of the study investigator.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Maintains confidentiality of information.
  • Adheres to field procedures as stipulated in the NJ Autism Study Field guide.
  • Abstracts onto computerized abstraction forms relevant medical, sociodemographic and diagnostic information.
  • Edits data, checks printouts, codes and prepares data for upload to main database.
  • Performs basic functions on the computer in Microsoft programs, such as: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assists in data analysis.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant area, such as: Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, Education, or related field.
Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CITI (human subjects research) certification (preferred).
